SAMARA: New fly camping experience

Unplugged wilderness adventure

As safaris get more and more sophisticated, it’s easy to forget the key motivation for going on one. Technology eclipses authenticity; architecture trumps experience. The fundamental human need to be invigorated by the wilderness – regardless of trendy bells and whistles – is forgotten.

We’ve always felt an attraction to embracing the simpler things in life. Stylish yet pared-down furnishings, deliciously simple food and an experience that places the wild front and centre allow us to focus on life’s real luxuries – the soul-expanding feeling of being in Nature, the gift of time and space, the company of loved ones.

It is in this spirit that we launch our brand-new fly camping activity, an unplugged adventure designed to make Samara’s 70,000 acres of exquisite wilderness come alive for our guests in the most authentic way.

Available from 1st October, Samara’s fly camping excursion includes a guided bush walk in Big Five territory, a traditional South African braai cooked on the open fire and a camp-out in a spectacular remote location. In short, an unforgettable way to round off your guests’ Samara journey.

Kind regards,
Sarah Tompkins & the Samara Team
