MADAGASCAR & MOZAMBIQUE
Tropical Storm Idai is intensifying off the western coast of Madagascar. Predictions are that the storm will develop into an intense tropical cyclone as it moves across the Mozambique Channel, with landfall likely in central Mozambique on Thursday or Friday. The storm will bring heavy rain, flooding and strong winds to Madagascar and parts of the Mozambique coastline. Pre-storm heavy rainfall has already impacted southern Malawi.
Widespread travel disruptions are expected along the path of this storm system.
