Mountain Aerial Cableway’s annual maintenance shutdown

We’re shutting down for our annual maintenance!

We’re committed to ensuring that Africa’s best tourist attraction is safe for everyone to experience. To do this, we’re shutting down our cableway for its annual maintenance between
25 July and 28 August.

This will mean that our cableway and all facilities on top of the mountain will be closed during this time.

For us, this is more than just a simple maintenance check. We’re serious about ensuring that everything we do during this period adheres to only the highest international standards, which include the Swiss Governing Body for Cableways (BAV) guidelines.

By doing this, we’ll be able to continue to welcome thousands of visitors to Africa’s New Seven Wonder of the Natural World.

There’s still so much to still enjoy!

While we work on the Cableway, we’ve made sure that there’s still plenty for you to experience:
• All visitors who celebrate their birthday during this year’s extended shutdown period will be able to collect and redeem their Free Birthday ticket until 30th September 2022.
• TAP, the bar at Table Mountain, will continue to operate throughout the shutdown period.
• Cable Card holders who have a valid Cable Card at the time of shutdown will receive an additional five (5) weeks added to their validity on their
card.
• Hikers and mountain climbers can still enjoy Table Mountain by making their own way to the top and back down.
