SOUTH AFRICAN AIRWAYS
South African Airways (SAA) has taken a decision to revise their East London schedule effective 02 September 2019. The following night stop flights between Johannesburg and East London will no longer be available and passengers will be re-accommodated onto the next available SAA operated flight:

  • SA 477 / Day 1 and 2 (Mondays & Tuesdays)
  • SA 472 / Day 2 and 3 (Tuesdays & Wednesdays).

ITALY
Italy’s Milan Linate Airport will close from 27 July to 27 October for runway maintenance.
All flights will be transferred to Milan Malpensa and Bergamo Orio for the three-month period.
The renovations will include the re-laying of the runway, a new baggage-handling system to increase airport security and a new food and beverage area.

SOUTH AFRICA
Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! by Marriott Durban Umhlanga Ridge has officially opened, making it the first Fire & Ice! by Marriott hotel in KwaZulu Natal and the fourth in South Africa.
The hotel is in Umhlanga, just north of Durban, and a short drive from King Shaka International Airport.
Previously a Protea Hotel by Marriott, the property has been rebranded after a complete transformation.

ZAMBIA
Proflight Zambia has announced plans for a scheduled service between Ndola and Johannesburg.
The new route, which is expected to begin on 02 September, will link the Copperbelt mining and industry hub with South Africa’s main business centre three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
A 50-seat CRJ jet aircraft will be used on the route.
