Victoria Falls is brimming with craft markets, enticing restaurants and an array of shops. Commencing 01 October 2018, Wild Horizons will be offering Bicycle Tours exploring our exciting little town and the amazing scenic surrounds. All tours will be led by a Wild Horizons guide. Cycle routes are subject to change and dependent on the specific tour booked, but routes will include cycling along the Zambezi River, visiting the famous Big Tree (a baobab tree estimated to 3500 years old), enjoying spectacular views of the Batoka Gorges below the Falls and cycling across the Victoria Falls Bridge.

When the sun hangs brightly in the blue sky and shards of light bounce across the surface of the river, there are few experiences more pleasurable than an afternoon spent on the Zambezi. The luxurious and spacious design of our vessels welcome a cool breeze to blow away the afternoon heat, and ensures that guests can leisurely roam around the boat to admire the scenery from every angle. Indulge in a light lunch and refreshments on board, while admiring the bold displays of an untouched natural landscape. The lunch cruise includes beers, soft drinks, local spirits, wine and water as well as a finger lunch. Lunch Cruises will take place between 12.00pm to 14.30pm daily with a minimum of 2 guests.

An “Airside” Meet & Greet service has been introduced at Victoria Falls Airport. The meet and greet will take place at the tunnel on entering the arrivals hall. Guests will be met with a welcome board and assisted to immigration where normal procedures will take place. The Representative will try to fast track the immigration process, but this cannot be guaranteed. After immigration, guests will collect luggage and be directed to their Wild Horizons driver / guide. The Representative meeting the guests is not a Wild Horizons staff member, however, the service can be booked through Wild Horizons.

Further to our Newsflash in January ’18, we would like to remind you that The Elephant Camp will embark on extensive upgrade in 2019, signifying the most substantial enhancement project since its inception. In order to fully execute and expedite the renovation, Main Camp will be closed from 28 January ’19 (The Elephant Camp West will remain open with a compliment of 6 rooms). Craig White will lead the renovation program, bringing with him extensive knowledge of the camp, its structure, history and unique surroundings. This upgrade is a testament to The Elephant Camp’s commitment to providing unmatched luxury accommodation, the highest level of service and the modern facilities that appeal to todays luxury global traveller. The refreshed Elephant Camp will see the addition of a luxury spa and gym.

The Botswana Government have announced their intention to ban the use of plastic carrier bags effective from the 1st of November 2018. Guests travelling to Botswana should be aware of this and are advised to not carry plastic bags into the country. The proposed fine for carrying plastic bags will be US$500.
