World-class whale watching & events this Winter

They have been spotted and are on their way!
It is time for Whales, Wine & Winter Indulgence.

We are ready to welcome winter with cosy fireplaces, hearty meals and maybe even some tummy-warming smores and gluwhein from the many wineries in our neighbourhood.

More reasons to love Winter…

Our winter special kicked off on the 1st May 2019. We have also discounted our De Hoop Village cottage by 40% and as an agent, you get your commission off the discounted rate! A break with a few friends, colleagues or family sounds in order to us… Hope to see you take advantage of this unbelievable offer. Contact reservations now.

We are excited to announce that a brand new Guided Activity has been added to the list! Our Nature Drive Experience will take you on a drive around our beautiful reserve to explore everything from fynbos and birds to wildlife with a qualified guide on an open safari vehicle. And of course, a stop for sundowners and snacks is just what the doctor ordered while you take in the breath-taking scenery around you. Contact us for more details.

Of course winter has so much more to offer – at De Hoop it’s the season for welcoming Southern Right Whales back to our shores. The vantage point at our beach, Koppie Alleen, provides world-class whale watching, so we can’t wait to grab our picnics and head down to watch for flukes and spyhopping. This winter we’re also hosting some fantastic events to allow guests to make the most of whale season – whether you’re looking to run an ultra-marathon or would rather relax with some fine food & a whale-time serenade – we’ve got you covered –
